About us

Montessori intentionally creates classrooms with multi-age children where the younger children see their peers as role models and leaders. The children also get to stay in the same classroom for 3 years offering a consistent, supportive relationship with peers and staff. Little Garden is located on 6 acres with over 80 garden plots. We will spend a significant amount of time each day exploring nature and learning from the environment around us.

In a Montessori classroom the guides “follow the child” and their interests. There are key areas of a classroom focusing on mathematics, culture, language, senses, and practical life. Children are delighted to see materials that are specific to their needs, interests, and size. They receive individualized and small group lessons and the materials are available for them to return to in order to secure a skill or concept.

We provide breakfast, a healthy afternoon snack, and catered lunch. Our school year begins on September 9th with scheduled Holidays and Professional Development days. We have parent/teacher conferences in October and May to collaborate on your child’s development. Visit our Calendar page with school related dates and additional information.

Our mission is to provide children a quality, nature-based Montessori education in a loving and nurturing environment. We believe play and learning go hand in hand.

“When I first stepped into a Montessori classroom, I fell in love. The children were engaged with learning and it felt so peaceful. I loved how hands on each material was and could only imagine teaching in a Montessori classroom at that moment. I’ve had 15 years of Montessori experience with children from diverse cultural and socioeconomic  backgrounds and I can confidently say it’s a method that centers the child and their developmental needs.
